The Edmonton Recorder Society is a volunteer-run organization of musicians who love to play the recorder. We play all sizes of recorders from the tiny garklein up to the great bass, especially the more common soprano, alto, tenor and bass recorders, and all types of recorder music from the medieval to modern periods.
Membership in the Edmonton Recorder Society is available to anyone.
The Edmonton Recorder Society organizes monthly group play-in sessions, a yearly recorder concert, an annual retreat, and we try to arrange for a professionally led workshop or two per season. As a service to its members, the Edmonton Recorder Society provides advertising for member events in the community, and we also have a members' music lending library.
As of March 2010, the Edmonton Recorder Society is proud to be a Chapter of the American Recorder Society. More information is available on the membership tab of our website and the ARS's website.
