The Edmonton Recorder Society is a non-profit society registered in the Province of Alberta. Its primary objectives are to cultivate an appreciation of the recorder, to inform people of the recorder, to help people improve their recorder playing, and to sponsor concerts, workshops and other musical events. The official business of the Edmonton Recorder Socity is handled by the Board of Directors, which is elected for a one-year term starting at the Annual General Meeting each year.

The 2011–2012 Board of Directors is as follows:

A volunteer-run arts organization doesn't run itself; there are many volunteers who do invaluable work behind the scenes. Key non-executive postions are as follows:
