Organization & Executive

The Edmonton Recorder Society is a non-profit society registered in the Province of Alberta. Its primary objectives are to cultivate an appreciation of the recorder, to inform people of the recorder, to help people improve their recorder playing, and to sponsor concerts, workshops and other musical events. A full listing of the Edmonton Recorder Society's objectives can be found in the downloadable copy of the by-laws.

The official business of the Edmonton Recorder Socity is handled by the Board of Directors, which is elected for a one-year term starting at the Annual General Meeting each year. A person may sit on the board for up to three consequtive years before being required to take a break.

The 2012–2013 Board of Directors is as follows:

President: Viven Bosley
Secretary: Judy Johnson
Treasurer: Mick Safruik
Directors: Margriet Haagsma & Linda Jacklin

If you have any concerns or questions about the Edmonton Recorder Society, feel free to contact any one of the above individuals.

A volunteer-run arts organization doesn't run itself; there are many volunteers who do invaluable work behind the scenes. Key non-executive postions are as follows:

Play-in Coordinator: Anne McMillan
Librarian: Janet Couch
Nordegg 2013 Organizing Committee: Linda, Margriet, Anne & Mick + Judy & Vivien as needed
Webmaster: Nils Hahn

If you are intersted in any of the above positions, please contact us.

The Edmonton Recorder Society has been assisted by the Province of Alberta through Alberta Foundation for the Arts, its arts funding agency.
